It's Done.....Finally.

The new website if done! I am still performing edits and looking for input (feel free to comment here with any suggestions). The new fabrics are all top of the line cottons in great colors.
I can't wait to hear from you. Tell me what you think.
I am at a conference for my "real" job right now. I am missing my kids, my husband and my sewing machine.
I will be working on some more wedding bags for Jodi and also some purses made from fabrics from the new line.
I thought summer was supposed to slow things down......

It's Almost Done!

I finally have one of each bag in the new line finished. I am photographing them this weekend and will work on the site the beginning of next week. Then I will have the official launch after the holiday! I can hardly wait to share them with you. I am starting with the fabrics and the diaper bag/tote that is my old faithful design. I will add some custom purses in the next few weeks. I will let you know when I have the site uploaded.

More Pictures from the Events

John Pottenger from Coastline Studios has added the pictures from the birthday party that took up a large part of my week last week. A prominent women in the Grand Rapids area celebrated her birthday surrounded by family and friends. That is what she wanted. A night to let everyone know how much she appreciated having them in her life. It was great!
The family is so appreciative of each other and of the blessings God has given them.
Not only was it fun to plan and make happen, but the work was actually a blast. Jodi and all of the other people who we worked with made it fun. We laughed, even during the tense times.
Working events like this is a creative outlet for me. I have a really good time. We work hard, but the final product is so beautiful, it makes it all worthwhile.
I feel very fortunate to have had the chance to work these two great events.

Happy Birthday Claire!

Today, my first baby turns 6. I can hardly believe it. She has already completed Kindergarten and will be a first grader in the fall.
Claire, you make me laugh, you have a kind heart and you are a good friend. You love Jesus and we love you. I am very proud of the girl you are and I know that there are big plans for you.
Happy birthday!

I'm Baaaack!

It has been quite the weekend. A beautiful wedding on Lake Macatawa and a wonderful birthday party.
There were a ton of hours involved, a lot of hard work, but the result was more than worth it.
Jodi Bos of In Any Event totally out did herself. It was a privilege to be part of the team that pulled it all together.
John Pottenger of Coastline Studios photographed both events and has some great pictures on his blog already. Check back for more later!
Notice that the flower girl bag that I made showed up in the preview pictures. I was thrilled to see it there!
It was so much fun to be involved in the success of these events. The families truly enjoyed themselves and it was great to be a part of their special days.

Warning: Busy Week Ahead

This week is going to be CRAZY! I am working for one of my great friends, Jodi Bos. Jodi owns In Any Event, a premier event planning business. She is known for her high-end, detailed designs. I have worked for her in the past, but this week is insane!
Here is a picture from a birthday party she did last December
She has booked a wedding on Friday and a Birthday Party on Saturday! That's right folks - two days in a row!
And these are no ordinary events mind you....Wedding reception for 340+ people in a tent on the beach...A 50th Birthday party for a well known women in our area for about 400.
It is going to be very busy, but a TON of fun! We always have a blast, even though we can't walk the next day.
I also designed a new bag especially for In Any Event.
This is the flower girl bag that coordinates with the bride's and bridesmaid bags. She will give them to the girls at rehearsal and they can pack for the big day in bags that match the colors of the wedding.
So....I may be a little out of touch this week. But, stay tuned. I will have wonderful stories to tell next week.

Apron Swap

Last month I participated in an apron swap through A Feathered Nest.
It was the first swap I have done and I had a blast. I decided to do a basic apron out of great fabrics from Amy Butler.
I chose to use her Geisha, Wallpaper and Full Moon patterns in different color combos. I love the way it turned out!
It is reversible and has extra long ties to wrap all the way around so it can tie in the front.
You can check out the other aprons from the swap at the flicker group.

Farmer's Market

Here is one of my newest obsessions. I love Sandi's new line "Farmer's Market." It isn't even shipping until July, but I have had it ordered for several weeks. I can't wait to see what this wants to be made into.

Right now, I am working on a special bag for Jodi. I am working two events with her next weekend. One is a wedding and she is giving the bride and bridesmaids a custom bag that matches the wedding colors and fabrics.

I will post pictures after they have received them. I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise.

The new line of bags will be making it's debut on the website and this blog in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.....

A Fresh Start

I started blogging for our family and friends with family news and other fun stuff. The deeper I get into the craft world, the more I realized that I would love to start sharing stuff that creatively influences me.
Stuff I find online, stuff I make, stuff I do, anything.
I am going to try and put a lot of effort into this blog. I am not sure if anyone will read it, but I am giving it the ol' college try.

Stay tuned for more exciting stuff....
