New Bag Design and a Fun Kids Project

I have a conference in Dearborn Sunday - Wednesday for work. I am going down a few days early to spend some time with my college roomate. We don't see eachother very often, but when we do it is like we see eachother every day. No big plans, but we are making a trip to IKEA and may see a movie.

I am delivering some gifts for her. Stuff she ordered from me in October. She is getting an apron and two bags that she wanted. They are a new style. I like them. They are pretty easy to make and can be worn across the body.
I also made my girls a new memory game using my Cricut, a flower punch and some fabric scraps. It was very easy and they love it.

The next project on the list is my first quilt. I am making it for my new nephew that is due to be born in February. I hope he gets it before he turns one!

Another Great Event

I am finally feeling like myself again. The surgery went well and I get my stitches out tomorrow. I haven't taken any pain meds since Sunday and feel pretty good. Saturday I even worked an event for Jodi.

It was a 50th Surprise Birthday Party for a well known fashion designer. There were some famous people there and even an apperance from Harry Connick, Jr! It was also one of the most amazing concepts that Jodi has ever invisioned. Several times I asked "is this your vision?" and she said yes. It is so satisfying knowing that we make the ideas in her head a reality for the client.

I will give you a taste here, but you should visit Jen Kroll's blog for all of the amazing shots of the evening.
Thanks for letting me be part of this Jodi!

Leah's Baby Shower

This past weekend we had my sister's baby shower in Chicago. Courteney and I left on Friday afternoon and beat the bad weather. We had a fun time spending time with Leah on Friday and Saturday and then had the shower on Sunday. Due to the bad weather (lots of snow), some of the girls from Michigan could not make it. We ended up with a pretty small group, but it was a lot of fun.
Leah's friend Lori hosted the shower in their gorgeous loft in the Loop. We had good food, games and conversation.
I hope that Leah had a good time. The next time I see my little sister she will be a mom!
Congratulations Leah! I love you.

A Short Break

I was in Chicago this weekend for my sister's baby shower. It was a ton of fun. However, I will not be posting pics today because I am going to have a small surgical proceedure today. It is not a big deal, but I will be on some serious drugs for a few days. Once I am lucid, I will post some pics of the fun event.

January is a hugely busy month for us. I am out of town or working every weekend which leaves Dear ol' Dad in charge of the girls. He is not used to getting them up and ready for school and the sitter before he heads off to work, so this will be an experience for us all.

Be back soon.

Coco's Christmas Party

The six girls came to our house on Thursday night for their Christmas Party. We had planned a dinner that ended up being a lunch instead.
Coco had decided that she wanted to have a panini that she saw on the Food Network. It was brie and chocolate. I thought it sounded terrible. I made it anyway and the girls seemed to think it was ok. They also had a salad, eggplant cheese rollatini, and Vianetta ice cream cake for dessert. The girls had a fun time and liked the "fancy" table. Thanks to Jodi for letting us borrow some In Any Event decor for the table.
I like planning and hosting these kind of things. It also forces us to clean our house. That is no small feat.

Have You Seen This?

This is the only thing that Claire has been talking about since Christmas. She asked for one, and I thought they were foolish. I thought that they were over priced and not worth it.
Besides, the people in the commercial look ridiculous!Well, tonight I finally caved. I hauled out some fleece that has been in my stash for awhile and sewed up some "snuggies a la jen."
Claire was ecstatic, Lilly just wanted one because Claire had one. They sat on the couch and read books in them. Like our house is a freezer and they couldn't have read a book without one.
Anyway, at least I don't have to hear about her wanting one every time the commercial comes on. And I figure I can drop the heat a degree or two now that they have these armed blankets.
