Both of the girls took swimming lessons last summer, so they both can swim. But, since they don't get the opportunity very often, they were a little apprehensive to start. Eventually, Claire would swim without swimmies.
We went to the beach to collect shells, the girls picked flowers and we met up with our friends the Goodley Family from England. Claire and George became friends last year and we emailed back and forth. When we discovered that we would both be there at the same time this year, we made plans for the kids to trade US stuff for UK stuff. They had a blast.
It was great to see Papa and Mimi and spend time outside soaking up the sunshine. But after a week, I realized how tiring vacations can be. I think next time I'll go by myself.
